6:19AM: Jennifer's Hurricane Ike Update

***********************************************************

Welcome to beautiful Hempstead, Texas........soon to be the home of Hurricane Ike. At 6:00 this morning I took the following picture showing the surf crashing over the seawall in Galveston ALREADY!!! The storm isn't suppose to hit until around 1:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. Yes, I know I'm not actually at the seawall; I'm standing in my bedroom. They are forecasting a 20 foot storm surge for those counties closest to the Gulf. I'll update this periodically through the day as the storm approaches. Officer Princess (aka Rambette) will be working from noon today until 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning and hopefully we'll be able to hear from her during the storm and get up to the minute *street cop* reports. (Be safe my Princess!)

And don't forget, scroll down to check out Jennifer's Phriday Photo Phiesta!!!

GET OUT NOW!

Certain death.

Well, maybe not certain.

Might need to invest in a good "helicopter." ;)

I'm just sayin'

We're in the path here too. I'm hoping it will slow down quickly and lose lots of power by the time it hits us. Good luck!!! I'll be thinking about you.

We're due to get strong winds and flashflooding. It looks like a STRONG storm.
