God Bless

Nadya Suleman, the single mother of newborn octuplets, is using the Internet to help support her family of 14 children. She's started a Web site seeking donations.

Her New Web Site

Look, she accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal.

In her interview with Ann Curry she also said she is not "on welfare," which is a bit of a semantic dodge, because it turns out she's receiving both food stamps and Social Security payments for three of her children who suffer from unspecified disabilities. She also said she plans to "support" her family with federally guaranteed student loans while she pursues a master's in counseling. (One tries to imagine receiving therapy from this woman, but the mind refuses to form the requisite image.)

A spokesman for the San Francisco office of the Social Security Administration, said that a single parent with no income qualifies for up to $793 a month for each child with a physical or mental condition that results in "marked or severe functional limitations". Suleman's 3 disabled children received the maximum payment, she would get nearly $2,900 a month in state and federal assistance, including the food stamps.

Despite those who feel compelled to offer donations to Suleman, it appears taxpayers in California will undoubtedly shoulder a part of her family's financial burden.

I personally don't think she did a smart thing. Who am I to judge.
What's your thoughts on this gal's situation?

Happy Friday Eve!

She's a crazy person who is using pregnancy and children as a form of self-medication.

She should be put away (and made sterile) and her kids should be put up for adoption. Sounds harsh, but this woman is ridiculous.

I was just on that web site before clicking onto your blog. I just posted something on this too that is going to show up tomorrow on my site. I think it is so wrong and feel so bad for the kids. Is she trying to look and be like Angelina Jolie? I think she is in a bad situation! It is sad because I don't think she looks at it like she is!

I wonder just what harm if any these kids will suffer if allowed to be raised by this woman. What morales and standards will she imprint on these kids about hard work, responsibility and even reality ? I just don't understand how a dr. could have implanted those eggs in good conscience knowing about all the other kids.
I guess whats done is done and the taxpayers will bear the burden. Will she repaiy said taxpayers with her tax refund next yr with all that EIC money?

Can some please explain to me how you live on Student Loans... aren't those to pay for classes?? How do you pay for classes if you use your loans for food?

And how did she afford the lip plastic surgery or injections? Because she's CLEARLY had it.

And she says once she graduates she can support her family. HOW??? How in the skeedoodle do you pay for daycare for.. well at least 10 kids?????

She's one sick puppy.

She's right up there with the crazy old lady with 78 cats in her house... only it's humans that she's collecting.

Sick

Screwed up

A burden to society

And she looks like she kissed a dashboard at 50 mph.

But that's just me... LOL

Lord. I can't even imagine having 14 kiddos.

I've not forgotten the doggy toys. Finally another one (like Zanna has in her mouth on the pix on my blog) came in and I'll mail them tomorrow when I get in from beautiful Denver!

It's all just so wrong on so many levels. I think she has some clear mental health issues. I'm also wondering - where did she get the $ for IVF? It was $15-$20G's per round last time I checked.

i don't think she should have gotten the fertility treatment. i mean, look at all those women out there who have NO children that can't have ANY at all, and would be WONDERFUL parents! and then she goes and has 8 more, already having 6! FOURTEEN KIDS! it was a poor decision on all their parts!

I agree with the first commenter (B.E. Earl). She is clearly narcissistic. I mean, even when she was interacting with her newborns, it was clearly all about her. "I can't wait to hold you" not "You are strong", "We will get through this together". Nothing...all about her!

Also, another great point was made on the Today Show this week. Her big plan is to support her family after she gets her degree. Even this plan is flawed. With the degree she is going for, she will make at most 60 grand a year. There is no way she can raise 14 (3 with disabilities that we know of)on that salary. And that is best case senario. Who is going to go to this woman for counseling? Not me. She needs counseling of her own!

How to spend your Federal Financial Aid:
1. lip implants
2. butt lift
3. french manicure
4. website management
5. oh yeah, and the kids
