I have been humbled....................

I went to Wal-Mart to pick up some stuff and ended up spending WAY too much money! But hey, I needed the 2 outfits, and hey, I wanted a bigger kitty-litter pan for my 2 nitties and, hey, I HAD to get some other stuff I didn't need, and then it happened.................................

As I was checking out, an announcement was made over the loud speaker. The funeral procession for the Hempstead Police Officer that was killed in Iraq would be starting in a few minutes. I live in Hempstead. I hurried up and put all my stuff in the car and then waited for the procession. I wanted to honor this fallen hero. I didn't know him, but hey, he didn't know me either, but that didn't stop him for fighting for me........

What seemed like hundreds of motorcycle's, all with waving American flags, were the first in the procession, as well as police cars from every city in Waller County. And then I heard it. At first I wasn't sure what I was hearing, then as it got closer, there was no mistaking the thundering of the Army gunship. It was very low in the air and moving very slowly. It's main purpose was to escort our hero to his final resting place and that it did, because it was traveling alongside the hearse. I was blinded by tears, but I thanked this man whom I didn't know, for making the ultimate sacrifice, not only for me, but for EVERY SINGLE American........

If you see one of our men or women in uniform, thank them, don't wait until they're gone........

Blessings....................
Sandi
