Welcome to all the SITSa's who are dropping by today. I (we) Sandi and I hope that you have a blast reading our posts. I (we) try to comment on everybody that visits but sometimes I (we) get backed up and can't. BUT I (we) eventually get caught up, so hang in there!!!!!!
Thanks again!
Jennifer and Sandi
I hope you guys will indulge me for a moment, but this is one of the coolest things I've done in a long time. These little guys (actually.........mostly gals....) let me hold the bird feeder and tape them at the same time. If you turn your speakers up you can hear them chattering. There were so many of them I could feel the air from their wings on my arms and they obviously didn't have a problem with me being so close to them. Don't peck the hand that feeds you I guess.........
~Sandi~
Sandi, That is VERY VERY VERY COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete- Jennifer
Hold something red in your lips and stand out there... wear safety glasses. lol
ReplyDeleteCool vid!
Heeselpfeffer
I have done the same thing, BUT COOLER! I was holding the bottom of the feeder, and they landed on my thumbs!!! and I felt the wind from their wings... it's SO neat! And it's so amazing to hand them LAND on you!and I would put the feeder in front of my face, and they only inches from my eyes! it truly is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. I love hummingbirds. I have a couple of feeders in my yard and I get a couple of them, but my grandmother get TONS of them at her place.
ReplyDeleteToo cool!
ReplyDeleteI would totally be FREAKING OUT! Birds are super pretty, but they scare the hell out of me!
Happy SITS day! :)

Oh wow, that is pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad there are no humming birds where I live now. I loved to watch them back in the States.

ReplyDeleteWow! that is amazing!!!!!! Hummingbirds are so cool.
ReplyDeleteWe have a nature trail here called the Bird Song trail and you can walk out into it, put bird seed on your hand and stand very still and birds will literally come and eat it out of your hand!
That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love humming birds.
Wow, cool. I would have been super freaked out. Birds are okay so long as they're no where near me...
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh.....you are the hummingbird whisperer! :-)
ReplyDeleteYears ago, when the girls were small, I had a feeder in the back yard. Then we moved out to Hawaii where hummingbird feeders are illegal, and although we are back on the mainland (9 years now), I have never replaced it.
I shall go out and buy a feeder today.
Thanks for sharing that and reminding me all that I am missing.
Oh and......Congratulations on your day in the SITS sun. Have a most beautiful day.
They really are amazing! Excellent filmography! ;) And happy SITS day!

ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! Happy SITS day!

ReplyDeleteVery cool! I love having hummingbirds around to watch!! Happy SITS day!

ReplyDeleteOh and I live in Minnesota!!
Happy SITS Day!
ReplyDeleteThat is too cool! I've been hanging a humming bird feeder out for the past two years, but have yet to get even one to stop by for a visit...I'm thinking all the other birds that swarm the other bird feeder keep them at bay...
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day! :)
i LOVE hummingbirds! i feel privileged every time i get to see one!
ReplyDeletehappy SITS day!

ReplyDeleteBlogBaby
That is so cool!!!! Happy Sits Day!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love hummingbirds! That was awesome. Happy SITS Day!
ReplyDeleteOK, I must know your nectar recipe--how did you get that many to come at one time? I've only seen one or two, at the most, at my hummingbird feeder!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!
My 3 year old is sitting with me--she LOVED watching that.
I LOVE hummers! That is too fun! Congrats on your SITs Day! Can't wait to read more about the TEXAN, I'm a little partial.
ReplyDeleteHappy Cinco De Mayo!
First, happy SITS! Second, this is so awesome and I am so jealous! I love hummers - but I only have about 3 or 4 that come to my house. SO cool!

ReplyDeletehttp://rachelvsthekitchen.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteWow! I love hummingbirds, but I don't think I seen so many at one time.
ReplyDeleteI should not have played the video with our new ragdoll kitten in the same room. He was bound and determined to get through the screen and TO THE BIRDS! *lol*
ReplyDeleteAdd to that, despite the utter coolness factor, birds TERRIFY ME! And hummingbirds look like they'd be perfect for pecking out eyes!
Happy SITS day! I will definitely be adding you to my daily reads!
Wow, I'll have to show my daughter that video. I have never seen that many hummingbirds at one time. How cool that they let you hold the feeder and stand so close to them. (guess they were hungry!)
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I've been close enough to hear and feel the wind from their wings but I've never seen so many at the same feeder. BTW congrats on your day!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day. cute birds and awesome video!

Happy SITS Day!
ReplyDeleteI loves me some hummingbirds! I have a friend in CO who can actually reach out to his feeder, snatch one out of the air, pet it, and release it. So very cool!
That was an amazing video. I let my kids watch it. What was so neat was the way you could hear the birds chattering ~ I've never heard hummingbird chatter! It sounds somewhat like dolphins.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy your SITS day!
HAPPY SITS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd lemme just say, that is the COOLEST thing I've seen in a long time!!!!! There were like 6 of them! And not only could you hear them chatting, you could hear their wings buzzing too!!!!
Thanks for posting that! I can't wait to show my hubby tonight!
Congrats on your SITS day! I can't actually see the video now, I'm using my hubbies laptop that does not have capability. :( From the comments, it sounds wonderful!

ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day! :)
How cool! My boys keep asking to watch it again!
ReplyDeleteComin' over from SITS, looks like I might be the 3rd Amy in a row! :)
ReplyDeleteWow- so cool!
OK - cool, yes, but I must admit I had a little bit of a case of the heebs going as I was watching that...hummingbirds are neat, but they kind of remind me of bugs. Which are not neat at all.
ReplyDeleteI can't see it right now (maybe it is overwhelmed by requests and is resting...? :) I'll come back and try again.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS
TS Day girlie!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat! They were all over the place! Happy SITS day!
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying your SITS day. How cool is this?! My mil has a hummingbird feeder, but everytime someone goes near it all the birds fly away, so I always thought that they wouldn't fly around people. Might have to get one of my kids to try this, cause I think I'm too chicken!
ReplyDeletewow!!! very beautifully cool!!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day... and that video was wonderful... I've never seen so many hummingbirds at once. Usually it's like a flash and they're gone!

Happy SITS day! That is an amazing post! I am terrified by birds but still loved it.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen more than one at a time, and that's a rare sight in itself. Amazing video.
ReplyDeleteI know they are naturally territorial but the one we have that comes around is a major bully--so we only get to enjoy that one mean bird!
ReplyDeleteVery neat! Happy SITS day!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing video! The sound of their wings freaks me out a bit, but what beautiful birds!
ReplyDeleteAwesome video! I want one!

Happy SITS Day!! Awesome!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sits Day.
WOW!!! That was so cool! So how often to you have to refill your feeder??
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day!
Wow! That is cool! What fun! You can also train Chickadees to eat out of your hand...make a cardboard cutout of a person, dress it in one of your shirts and have it "sitting" outside in a chair with birdseed in it's hand. Leave it there for a couple of weeks and watch for the chickadees to come regularly...then...put the shirt on, sit in the chair, put seed in your hand and stay still...they'll eat right out of your hand. Fun!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Happy SITS day!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that!?!?!?! I can't believe they got so close to you!
ReplyDeleteWow! that is freaking awesome. I wish there were more hummingbirds around here so I could try that.

ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS. That is AMAZING! I remember loving to see them when I camped as a kid & my folks would hang a feeder from a tree. Very cool that you got to be so close to them and witness that first hand. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThat was so. Cool!
I've been wanting to buy a hummingbird feeder for a long time and keep thinking--I won't get any hummers, don't waste the money.
But you've inspired me! I'm not going to go out on a limb (so to speak) but I'll pick up a cheapy feeder and hang it on my deck. Wish me luck. And happy SITS! :) GREAT POST!
That's so cool but hummingbirds freak me out a little. They're pretty, but being that close to them would not be on my list of things to experience.
ReplyDeletethat is totally amazing. they are friendly in the garden but wow I can't believe that video & how many of them came to feed. I'll be pasing this on to a friend

ReplyDeleteThat is amazing!! Wish we had hummingbirds
ReplyDeleteOh that was way cool. I love that video. I've sadly never seen a hummingbird in person, but that was so COOL. As I just said :)
