You see, Ree loves to cook and Ree loves to eat wonderful food, but to get wonderful food she usually needs to cook it herself (being on an isolated ranch and all). Ree loves to cook so much that she created her very own cook book called “The Pioneer Woman Cooks” and she published it! Pretty cool eh!? Wait, it gets better, the first week she released her book it went to the top of the New York Times best sellers list!! Number One baby!!

Ree aka The Pioneer Woman was here on Saturday for her book signing.
It was cool actually seeing her in person!
Today The Pioneer Woman receives about 15 million hits per month (this would be about 14,999,998 more than ours) but other than that our websites are pretty much the same.

Hurricane Jimena

Hurricane Jimena is ready to hit Cabo San Lucas and cross the Baja today and tomorrow. Thank god I don't live down there anymore. I went through Hurricane Marty in 2003. I had a 40 acre horse ranch and 14 horses on the property when it hit. It sucked! Mulege was destroyed and it hit 1 week before we were moving back to the States. Our moving semi was delayed 2 week because it couldn't drive down the Baja because the roads were gone.

I don't like storms one bit. I've been through too many dangerous ones. Here's a post I did back on July 21, 2008.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of my friends that I know down in the Baja.

internet craze with the squirrel?
Melissa Brandts set up their camera on a timer to photograph herself and her husband in front of Lake Minnewanka, but this little camera whore had different ideas for the picture. Fortunately, it turned out kinda nice-looking.

So then everyone started photoshoping the squirrel in their pictures. I have to admit. I'm addicted. It's funny, it's fun and I can't stop! After squirrel'n most of the pictures I had of my boyfriend, SANDI suggested I do a few of CowGuy . So I tagged CowGuy in numerous photos through our Facebook page. Then yesterday, he revenged on his blog with a photo
of Sandi and I.

A train passes by my window at work approximately 5,234 times per day. I get to watch the cars out the window and hold onto my monitor as it tries to shake right off my desk. Larry and I headed out to the golf course yesterday because it was so darn picture perfect outside for a round of golf.

So I drive off the tee and luckily hit my ball over a small hill onto the fairway about 150 yards up. This is what we discover when we approached my ball.

I hope I didn't plunk my ball on his little head. Hopefully I hit him on his back?

He obviously doesn't like the color Pink either because he retreated quickly to go find some water.

Sentenced to Hard Labor

Every six months or so I get this itch to move furniture. I don't know what comes over me. It's like I have to move something heavy and kill my back and legs, or life just isn't worth living. So last Thursday I set about moving stuff. To give you a little history, our last house was an 85 year old ranch style job with 5 bedrooms so there was plenty of room to cram stuff into. Then we were made a ridiculous offer on that house and we, not wanting to disappoint anyone, sold it and moved. I swore to myself we would find something smaller since I was the only one that was going to clean it; so we immediately bought a bigger house *DOH*.

We moved into this house, with only 3 bedrooms, 2 years ago and since there was a one car, drive through, detached garage, we turned it into a shop for the hubby so he'd have a place to sleep (do I need to explain anything here girl's????).

There is also a 2 car attached garage so we turned that into my craft room (aka crap room) and it is filled to the rafters with crafty stuff. Well, load sharing is what prompted me to move furniture. For those of you who don't know what load sharing is, let me explain..........It's where you throw LOT'S OF MONEY for air conditioning at your electric company, but only one end of your damn house stays cool and it's ain't the garage, or your damn bedroom. IT SUCKS.

Here in Texas we have 4 seasons. Summer, More Summer, Hotter than Hell and Winter (and Winter lasts about 4-1/2 minutes -- you sneeze and you'll miss it). It was easy to keep the craft room cozy in the Winter by leaving the doors open, and I was able to work out there with no problem. But thanks to load sharing, it's impossible to keep the crap room comfortable and then we (my husband) decided to just shut the damn doors...........so now one end of the house feels like Summer, the other end feels like Winter and it's Hotter than Hell in the crap room.

.......sooooooooooooo...........I started moving furniture. One bedroom is now designated the bead and paper crafting room and the other bedroom is the sewing room. I moved beds, desks, dressers and all the accessories into their respective places..........

That's when I found it.............orange marker underneath one of the beds on the white carpet...... and a little girl's name, in orange marker, on the front of an antique trunk that, I was told, was made in Russia in the 1700's and made it's way to Norway where my great grandparents packed it up and moved it to America (Minnesota!!!!) in the late 1800's........ Needless to say, I was a tad bit irritated (oh........ and Resolve doesn't remove orange marker from white carpets!!!).

So me, being the calm, rational, fun loving, and sweet person that I am, thought I should have a little chat with this little girl. Low and behold, she and her Dad happened to drop by yesterday afternoon. I told her that I needed to speak to her about something very important and proceeded to march her to the back bedroom where I pointed out the graffiti on the trunk and carpet. She IMMEDIATELY burst into tears and said she didn't do it.......that was her story and she was sticking to it. She was told that she couldn't use markers, or any other form of writing/drawing utensil in our house again until she could prove to us that she wouldn't go around marking her territory.........

So, the calm, rational, fun loving and sweet person in me said that this display of artistic prowess needed to be addressed so that this little girl would remember that she's not to draw on carpet, antique trunks, walls (in the other house), or anything else that didn't resemble paper. I came up with a unique punishment. Feel free to try this out on your children/grandchildren/ neighborhood kids, etc. It worked for about 30 minutes and POW she had markers and was at it again.....................until her cousin snitched on her.........that's a whole nuther blog.

P.S. NO CHILDREN WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS BLOG!!!!

Remember when:

January 20th, at a concert in Des Moines, Iowa someone throws a bat on stage. Stunned by the light, the bat lay motionless and Ozzy thinking it was plastic, (of course he had to be drinking, or high on something to think this thing was plastic!) picks it up and bites the head off of it. The bat then started to flap his wings and Ozzy soon realized it wasn't fake! After the show Ozzy was immediately rushed to the hospital for rabies shots. Ozzy describes it as "one of the most horrible, painful experiences of my life."

So you see.....Ozzy thought it was fake. He's really not a bad guy...

Note: Most of the information gathered in these regional beer profiles has been gleaned from the the wonderful users over at BeerAdvocate. Their reviews are a must for any serious brew-hound. Also, I decided to exclude brewpubs from these profiles and just stick with actual craft breweries. Generally a brewpub makes beer that is only sold in it's own establishment. I wanted to stay with breweries whose product you could actually find at your local store/distributor/bar. Hopefully. And I'm only going to highlight 2 or 3 per region. Also, feel free to nit-pick. I dig beer and all, but I'm certainly not the absolute last word on it. - Earl

This has been a lot of fun, and informative for me as well. I am finding a bunch of beers that I would like to try myself, and I am giving the list to Gia to see if she can get a hold of them thru work. Here goes part III:

Jennifer - "I'm from Minnesota. Beer me, Earl!"
When I first saw Jennifer's beer profile request I thought "Blech...Leinenkugel! I hate that stuff." Then I thought "Hmm...Arcadia. I love that stuff!" Then I realized that Leinenkugel is from Wisconsin and Arcadia is from Michigan. I'm afraid my East-Coast bias is rearing it's ugly head once again in these profiles. Sigh. So it was off to BeerAdvocate for me to see if I recognized anything at all from Minnesota.

Nope. Nada. Zilch. Nothing out of the 11 breweries and 15 brewpubs in the state. But I did find the worst reviewed brewery I have ever seen, and another that was pretty close. Both in Cold Springs. Wow. Anyway, I have decided that I am going to pick a couple of them based solely on my interest in their beers. And based solely on that, I would love to try a bunch of the beers from Surly Brewing Company in Brooklyn Center. Check out the names of THESE beers. CynicAle, Hell, Furious and Tea-Bagged Furious. Awesome! And they come in cans, which I love. Double the awesome! I can't really tell you exactly what kind of beers they are because they brew them specifically so that they can be easily categorized into one style. As their head brewer says ""Surly Brewing Company's beers are NOT brewed to fit into ANY beer style guidelines. So please spread the word!" So I'm doing it. It looks like they are only available in Chicago outside of Minnesota. Pity. I would love to give them a try.

Lift Bridge Brewery in Stillwater is probably the newest brewery in Minnesota. They only have 6 beers or so in their stable, but they all sound interesting and their website is simple and informative. One beer that they brew, in particular, tickles my fancy. It's called Biscotti and it is a Belgian-style ale inspired by the biscotti recipe of one of the brewer's grandmother. Grains of Paradise, Vanilla and anise notes are present in addition to the traditional hops, oats, honey, malt Belgian yeast. Sounds sooo tasty. Since it is so new, I would assume that it is only available local, but you never know. Check it out.

Now you'll have to excuse me. I'm off to go open up a nice tasty, frosty Bud Light!

Food maker Nestle USA on Friday voluntarily recalled its Toll House refrigerated cookie dough products after a number of illnesses were reported by those who ate the dough raw.

The FDA advised consumers to throw away any prepackaged, refrigerated Nestle Toll House cookie dough products in their homes.

Well........ I don't care. I'm still eating the stuff because IT'S GOOD!!

Time for Another Recipe!

Ya'll remember my story about my husband having his hip replaced? Yes? No? No matter, cause the best part of his surgery (although husband may disagree here) was our close friends, John and Carol, brought us some of the most amazing broccoli casserole I've EVER had in my life. I talked Carol into sharing the recipe with me and now I'm going to share it with you!!!! At our church, if there are 5 Sunday's in the month, on the 5th Sunday we have a covered dish lunch. Some of the best food I've ever tasted in my life I've had at church on 5th Sunday. I made this dish last Sunday and took it. There was maybe 5 tablespoons left........(fortunately, this recipe makes a huge amount and I had set some aside for us!!!)

Since it was the first time I'd made it using Carol's recipe I was a little apprehensive. Nothing ever tastes quite as good as when someone else makes it. Well, it tasted exactly like Carol's.

Carol's Broccoli Rice Recipe (for 9 x 13 casserole dish - makes ALOT - the casserole dish will be full)

Ingredients

celery, chopped (2 cups) - I think I used 3-4 ribs
1 large white onion, chopped (approximately 2 cups)
Broccoli - I used two 26 oz. bags of frozen chopped or florets broccoli (or at least 3 large bunches of fresh broccoli florets) - whatever floats your boat
2 cups Velveeta cheese, cut up into cubes
2-1/2 cups butter (oh yeahhhhhh........butter!!!!)
2 can's Cream of Mushroom Soup
2-1/4 cups long grain rice, cooked
Pam cooking spray

Preparation

Rice: Place 1-1/4 cups of rice in pan and add 2-1/2 cups water and 3 teaspoons butter. Bring to a boil, lower heat to simmer and simmer for 15 minutes or until rice is fluffy (if some gets burned, just don't add that part! lol.) Dump into a large (AKA HUGE BOWL) bowl and set aside.

Broccoli: Place all of the broccoli in a large pan, cover with water and bring to a boil. Let boil until broccoli can be broken up with a fork. Drain (being especially careful not to drain on your foot - but we won't go there!!!)and then set aside to cool and then chop into smaller pieces. I left mine in the strainer after draining and cut it into smaller pieces with a sharp knife.

I had the rice and broccoli cooking while I was making the sauce. That way the rice and broccoli were done about the time I had finished the sauce.

The Sauce: melt 3-1/2 sticks of butter in a large skillet. To this, add the chopped celery and saute until just about done. Then add the chopped onions to the celery and butter and finish cooking until both the celery and onions are soft. Add 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup, stir and mix thoroughly. To this, add the 2 cups of cubed cheese a few at a time while they melt evenly, until all cheese has been used.

Now add the broccoli to the bowl with the cooked rice and mix it up. Gradually add your sauce to the broccoli/rice mixture. Stir and mix as you go. If it's soupy looking, that's great!

Spray your 9 x 13 casserole dish with Pam cooking spray and then add mixture. Cook uncovered in a 350 degree oven until browned and bubbling.

Now, if you need even more than this, here's the recipe for the 6 x 11 casserole dish.

1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1-1/2 sticks of butter
2 cups cooked rice (1 cup of rice to 2 cups water)
2 cups broccoli florets or chopped broccoli
2 cups Velveeta cheese, cubed

Use instructions above to prepare this smaller dish.

Name That Mosquito!

I own a mosquito. Who doesn't in Minnesota? I've had him for over 20 years. Don't mind his missing eyeball. It fell off somewhere along the interstate when I moved back to Minnesota. He's a tad rusty too. Maybe I'll give him a new coat of paint this weekend.

I can't toss him, my brother and sis-in-law bought him for me and I'm kind of attached to the little sucker. He's lived in a lot of places. Even out of the country!

Another thing he's missing besides his eyeball is a name. Should I name him?
Any ideas?

I'm A Flip Flop Enthusiast!

Okay, I'm addicted to flip flops. Lived half my life in the south and I'm part Indian so I prefer no flip flops at all but one has to do what one has to do and wear some sort of shoe.
Here's a quick photo of the flip flops that I wear to work/daily and are downstairs. I have an entire shoe rack upstairs for my "dress flip flops" and I was too lazy to go up there and toss them into the mix. Who doesn't like flip flops? What do you wear in the summer?

We were blessed to be able to get to the track on Saturday morning just in time for the drivers meeting. We got to stand right in front of all of them. As you can see Danica was really paying attention to the track instructions because she was busy texting. Maybe she was getting the track instructions sent to her phone? I doubt it. She's still beautiful though! Ashley Judd's hubby Dario Franchitti is pretty easy on the eyes as well.

By the time your reading this we are just getting up after arriving at our hotel in Indianapolis at 2AM. The drive is 9 hours for us from Minneapolis to Indy. Any who!!!

This may shock some of you but this new music video belongs to Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke. This song is a keeper in my book. She sounds awesome! I think the reason I like her is she sounds just like Janet Jackson whom I adore! I think we'll be seeing more of Brooke!

What the ????

I'm driving into my community last night and I come up on 8 Sheriff vehicles and 6 local cop cars surrounding one of the streets. That's a picture from my cell phone of half the cops. The other vehicles were up past the yellow townhouse.

I was SHOCKED because I was wondering what they were doing there. Was it some type of drill? Some sort of training exercise? Were they stopping a speeder? Nope. I had to drive past them because I live 2 streets down. As I drive past the street I see all of the officers with their guns and shot guns drawn pointing to a house across the street from them.

This is kind of what it looked like!

Holy SHIT I said to myself and hurried home to barricade myself in. Kidding about the barricade. Heck, I grab Luna and we walk up to check it out a little closer. We stood and watched with a few of the other curious neighbors. Finally I was bored and went home. Never did find out what in the heck it was all about. Maybe I should call the local PD. This was not normal for such a nice community in which I live.

Yesterday I saw 3 different woman wearing sunglasses that matched their cars.
White frames lady drove a white Suburban.
Yellow frame lady drove a yellow Sunfire.
Lastly, little miss red frame lady was driving a red Grand Am.
Am I missing something?
I'm lucky I guess because I drive a black CUV so every pair of my sunglasses match!
Think of the money I saved?

It's the hot "cool" thing to do here in Minnesota. It's all "they" talk about. Those of us that live in the suburb's are buying and raising chickens. I love the little buggers and understand the new craze! Heck, we raised snow geese when I was little but we lived on a lake. Please refer to photo below!

What the heck, get out there and buy your chickens! I'm sure they'd enjoy those wooden playset's everyone seems to have in their backyard!

Trash

Trash. Usually not this organized as I have depicted here. I am SO sick of seeing people casually toss trash out of their windows while driving. I was behind a chick the other day driving into the Target parking lot as she whips a soda can out her window. Mind you she drove right past the front entrance where there was a garbage can she could have deposited it into. A few weeks ago we were driving and saw two boys/skateboarder/hoodlums/teenagers (sorry I was profiling) walking along side of the road and one of them tosses their empty water bottle in the weeds. Once again, across the road from them was a Super America gas station and the last time I checked they too have garbage cans.

The only thing I toss out the window is things the birds can use ie; floss (they can use it for their nest because I've seen them), sunflower seeds (they eat them) etc... Oh my, I just realized I have been known to toss out a piece of gum. Crap.... I guess I litter too.

Cowguy told me today he tosses trash "In" his window but that's a whole nuther blog!

Vanity Plates

I love reading vanity plates. Thanks to all of you that pay the extra fee to own one. I do have a problem with the ones I don't understand your letters. Some make no sense at all. If I'm blessed with the opportunity to get stuck behind you at a light I have some time to "try" to figure it out. But if after 3 + minutes I can't figure it out I start getting mad and call you an idiot. I hope I'm not offending any of you that own a vanity plate that people can't figure out.

You can tell it's Spring. Last night I witnessed a Mallard and her young jumping down off the curb and heading to the other side of the road. I was pleased to see the car that was coming at them stopped. Right in the middle of the road. This driver didn't care if she would be rear-ended. She was watching the same spectacular site as I was. If you've never stopped to watch this event you should. It's pretty cool!!

This is a Fat Free Zone!

aaaaaaahahahaha.........NOT! Well here in Texas, at my house it's not. Jennifer, the Minnesotian, is skinny from shivering all winter. Here in Texas, winter last about 27 minutes and then we head right into summer. But enough about the weather. It's Texas........need I say more?

I want to talk about banana pudding. Not the banana pudding you make from a box, but the real McCoy. My husband loves banana pudding. The kind his grandmother used to make. I have literally been trying to find a recipe like his grandmother's for many, many, many months. Last night I finally found it. It wasn't a written recipe.......it was a video and actually showed you how to make the stuff. Unfortunately he was talking so fast I only got part of the ingredients and then I dashed into the kitchen and started making it. There is one part where you stand in front of your hot stove and for 10 minutes you whisk until you think you're going to whisk your #$&) arm off. That's when I realized I must have done something wrong so I poured the whole thing down the sink. Ran back to the bedroom to watch the video again and realized I was doing it correctly. #&$)$#& $)($*$#!

The banana pudding that the guy was making included a meringue topping. HELLO! It's banana pudding. In Texas you don't put meringue on anything else you'll be hung from somebody's Mesquite tree. I ran back into the kitchen and started over. I'm going to all this trouble to make banana pudding that I don't even know if anyone will eat. Maybe the dog will like it.

Well, I finished it, popped it in the fridge and took it out a coupla hours later and fed it to my husband and all he did was moan and groan. I took that as a thumbs up. I tried it and I started moaning and groaning too!! It is A W E S O M E!

It's so great I wanna share the recipe with you guys (minus the meringue topping).

Things you'll be a needin:

2 Cups Whole Milk

2 Tbsp. butter

1 Cup of Sugar

2 Egg yolks

1/8 tsp. salt

1 tsp. Vanilla (or more if you want)

1/3 Cup Flour

4 Banana's, cut up

Vanilla Wafers

In a 9 x 13 casserole dish, cover the bottom with vanilla wafers and then cut up your banana's and place them evenly over the top of the vanilla wafers.

In a metal saute pan, over medium heat (maybe a tad higher), melt the 2 tbsp's. butter. Add milk, 2 egg yolks, 1 cup sugar and 1/3 cup flour. Whisk until it reaches a pudding stage. About 10 minutes. When thick and creamy, remove from heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla; whisk until fully "incorporated" (I LOVE that word). Pour mixture over vanilla wafers and banana's and put in the fridge until pudding has set and is cool.

At this point, (before you put the pudding in the fridge) if you live anywhere north of Texas, you can make the meringue if'n you want to. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In an electric mixer, place the 2 egg whites and 1/3 cup of sugar. Beat on high until stiff peaks form. When done, take meringue and spread over pudding and kinda of splat (WOW! a new word!) the top of it to form peaks so it's purty. Place the casserole dish in the oven and brown the meringue. DON'T PUT IN THE OVEN AND WALK OFF. Trust me, you'll be sorry. Nobody's gonna get the warm fuzzies if you serve them a big heaping bowl of banana pudding with black #$&! all over it. Remove as soon as it's turned a golden brown.

Fix yourself and anyone else that's there a bowl and moan and groan and drowned yourself in heavenly bliss.

Little Buggers!

This my friends is my favorite bird. The Cardinal. I have two feeders out hoping for the chance to have them visit my house.

But these guys, (Red-Winged Blackbird) are hogs and are at the feeder most of the time. They even hang out in the tree next to the feeders and swoop down at the feeder if anyone else shows up.

Any suggestions as to getting rid of the blackbird's so I can attract OTHER kinds of birds?

Maybe I need to invest in a pellet gun?

My Today is Different Then Your Today

I brought my new car back to the dealership for a small warranty issue. I told the Service Manager at the body shop if he could get the car done "today" I'd leave it with them because I could drive my mother's car for the day. He said, " yes we could do the work today." So, I leave the car with them. After work I drive to the body shop and he looked surprised I was there. I said, "so is my car here or did you drop it off over at the dealership. " He said "your car isn't ready". I said, "well I'll just pick it up and I'll drop it back off some other day" because I couldn't drive my mother's car anymore this week because she needed it. The Service Manager told me I couldn't drive it because the bumper had been removed. So off I go back to the dealership to pick up a loaner car. I was sad. I wanted my car back. So my point here is. When the Service Manager told me the car could be repaired "Today" I thought he meant the same day. I guess I was wrong. Oh well. I want the bumper repaired so I have to deal with it. I just wish people would say what they mean.

It's been an odd medical month. Let's recap shall we.

B's Hip Replacement. Check

My sister's eye lid surgery. Check

My brother's MRI to confirm back surgery this fall. Check

My mother's cancer diagnosis. Check and will be on going.

Three days in a neurological hospital with my boyfriend for a stroke scare. Check

My boyfriend's EKG & Bubble test. Check

My boyfriend's MRI/MRA of head and neck. Check

My boyfriend's Ultrasound of arteries. Check

My boyfriend's blood tests. Lost count after 10. Check

My boyfriend's diagnosis - Migraines. Check

Okay, I'm done!

Looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend with my family!

My Husband's Hip!!!

..............not in the "I'm a cool dude, hip", but his real hip. He had his hip removed on Tuesday and a new improved hip installed. The way he explained it..........it sounded like he was getting a trailer hitch installed. I kid you not. He said............."the doctor is going to cut off the ball part of my hip, drill a hole down the middle of my femur and stick a rod in it and attached the ball". Now doesn't that sound like a trailer hitch installation? Yep, I thought so too.

I guess the most important thing in all of this is MORPHINE is a good thing! Bless his heart! He's got probably a 8-9 inch incision beginning right above his pelvis (yeah, they did something to that too) and it extends down about 5 inches on the front of his leg. He's got 18 staples..... OUCHIE!!!

The doctor said when he got "in there", the ball of his hip was rotated rather strangely (inward instead of outward) and it was difficult to do what had to be done. They put a boot on his left foot so they could manipulate (aka.... have something to grab onto to jerk the hip around) his hip.

Now I'm pretty smart and I pretty much knew he was going to be in quite a bit of pain, but they forgot to mention that they had probably sprained his ankle also!! SWEET! He woke up this morning and couldn't move his ankle and it was killing him................they x-ray'd it to make sure that while they had fixed his hip.........they hadn't broken his ankle in the process......not a good thing.

Pain and drugs can make people very insensitive to the needs of others.........ME! It's hard to be sweet, loving and humble when your drug and pain crazed husband is being an ASS.........
I put off going to the hospital this morning as long as I could because I wasn't sure I could handle the cold, deadly stares and drooling.

Then I found a copperhead just inside my front door this morning at 6 a.m. as I was walking half asleep to the front bathroom. Not believing what I was seeing, I just shook my head and said..... "Self.........it just CAN'T be a snake". I turned around, went back into my bedroom and proceeded to wash my face and get dressed, thinking the whole time........"what if I go back and there is nothing there". Sure enough...........it was gone. I HATE SNAKES and from what I understand from my neighbors, we live in copperhead country (that and bobcats). I immediately got on the phone and called a friend of ours and this was the conversation.

"Victor..........can you come over like NOW!!!" "There's a #&$)#ing snake in my house and I don't know where the #&$) it is and I can't bring Bud home from the hospital tomorrow if there's a #&$)ing copperhead in the house and I can't find it and none of the physical therapy folks will come if there's a copperhead in the #&$)ing house either or do you think I should call the police and tell them what's going on and I can't remember my neighbor's #$&)ing phone number because she kills these things all the time".

"aaaaaaaaahahahahahaha.......I #&$)ing hate snakes Sandi.................(silence)."

"Victor.............get your #&$)ing ass over here NOWWWWWWWWWW DAMMIT!

"Okay, sweetie I'll be right there".

So Victor shows up and I'm standing in the front yard with a flashlight (it's broad daylight), my camera and a pack of cigarettes...........I left the lighter in the house........dammit and I was wishing I had some morphine.

We start our search. I have a box in my hallway with a fake christmas tree in it I've been meaning to put in the attic and I kicked the box away from the wall and shout "THERE IT IS"......#&$) that's not a #&$)ing copperhead". I'm feeling pretty stupid now. It's a salamander. You know.......one of those coppermanders. You find them all over Texas. Anyway...... after Victor stopped laughing and could breath again, he goes into the bedroom where the little critter has fled and goes to pick the little bastard up and it tried to bite him. Victor jumps about 6 feet in the air and then tries to act like nothing happened. It was a catch and release deal....... coppermander is back outside where he belongs.

I finally get to the hospital a little after 11 a.m. and very quietly open the hospital door and peek in, fully expecting to see my husband propped up in bed with his head rotating on his shoulder's and green vomit spewing from his mouth. Instead, I was greeted with a smiling husband....albeit a little on the pale side, but he was smiling and sitting in a chair next to his bed. All the IV's and other tubes had been removed (no more morphine!!!). We have progressed to Vicotin for pain and almost immediately the cold, deadly staring and drooling have stopped.

I get to bring him home tomorrow..........wonder what the weekend will bring?
