It's That Time of Year

It's Candid Carrie's Phryday Foto Phiesta!! .....scurry on over there....HURRY UP and it's time for the Minnesota State Fair Great Get Together and I'm a Fair-Natic!!

I haven't been to our State Fair in over ten years. This is due to the fact that I just moved back to Minnesota 3 years ago. I am SO EXCITED!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Fair.

Time to consume everything and anything possible you can put on a stick.

"Hot Dish on a Stick", "Smore's on a Stick", "Cheese Curds on a Stick" (YUCK) won't be trying those, "Spaghetti & Meat Balls on a Stick" (Gotta try that one to see how that's done)!

This years favorite is suppose to be from Famous Dave's and called "PIG LICKERS". Bacon covered in dark chocolate with sea salt. Doesn't that look heavenly??

Well I'm off now....tapping my foot on the floor waiting for Larry to take me to the fair!

Have a safe and wonderful holiday weekend everyone!!

Now That's Big

I went to the dollar store this past weekend and found these cheesy cute pens with a fluffy cap embellished with a large jewel. Hey it's only a buck so I bought myself one and my boss's wife one. She loved it. So yesterday she brings in a present for me :) It's a useful-large-GIGANTIC paper clip!! Look at that thing. I'm not kidding you it's VERY LARGE. I could hold a house together with this sucker. Any other ideas ?

Thanks again!
Jennifer and Sandi

So I wake up this morning and Miss Fancy Pants - my Green Bay Packer Bear (GBPB) is sitting in the camping chair demanding to know where Brett Favre is? I told her it was a long story. She didn't buy it. I also tried to tell her to get over it because Candid Carrie did. After all, he USE to be Candid Carrie's boyfriend. Btw, a tad early to be drinking a Bud Light isn't it??

So she say's "Is he in here?"

Oh BRETTTTT are you in here? No, Green Bay Packer Bear Brett Favre is NOT in the dumpster. Even though I know some Packer fans would like to see him in there for ruining their team.

Get back in this house right now missy....He's not outside in the yard either!!

My Green Bay Packer Bear's new qwest in life is to find Brett Favre?
This is going to take awhile!

Did someone say BTW it's PHRYDAY'S PHOTO FIESTA???
Yes, it's Candid Carrie's

Photo op's

Do any of you have someone in your life that when you want a good photo they HAVE to make a silly face??? Stick their tongue out at the camera, make goofy looks or turn their back......Well my boyfriend is one of them!! EVERY TIME I want a photo he has to make some stupid face to sabotage the photo op. Grrrrrrrr. These are great memories to cherish, hence the reason why camera's were discovered? We do a lot of great things, travel to fun places and I want a good photo damnit!!!!!!!

Here we are at Indianapolis 500 this year. Knowing Larry very well I attempted to STOP any silly face he was going to make.

Again....... here in Cabo. Way to go Larry!

And yet again.....here in Gaylord, MN

But I'm not giving up. I'll keep trying for that great photo.
At least Larry keeps me laughing and that's a great thing!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Ok, I scared one of you

Yesterday I posted some comments or now appears a disturbing comment.

"I FEAR ... those scarey men that sit on the knoll outside my house at night aiming their guns at me."

It's a dream I have repeatedly. Scares the CRAP out of me. Or the one where men wearing ski masks (must be winter time as I'm in Minnesota) heave my garage door open and come inside my house thru the garage door.

Now mind you, my boyfriend has ASSURED me that there is no way on God's green earth anyone could lift my garage door because it has the garage door opener thingy and they can not be lifted up without pressing the little button on the remote.

So I sleep soundly knowing that??? NOT!!!!

Maybe I need a larger dog?? Sorry bout that "Luna"

I AM

Because I have nothing to write about today. I'll take the road Hot Tub Lizzy took on Friday!

I AM ... ready for summer to begin!

I WANT... to eat lobster and sit by a lake, in that order

I HAVE ... a beautiful dog.

I WISH I COULD ... take a week vacation at a cabin on a lake.

I HATE ... when I can't cheat on my front loading wash machine, open the door once it's started & toss in a piece of clothing I forgot to put in.

I FEAR ... those scarey men that sit on the knoll outside my house at night aiming their guns at me.

I HEAR ... silence.

I SEARCH ... for the full moon every month.

I DON'T THINK ... those Chinese gymnasts are 16 either.

I LOVE ... my family.

I AM NOT ... a big fan of black licorice.

I DANCE ... whenever I CAN!!!

I NEVER ... like to watch idiots poor gasoline on an open fire.

I RARELY ... forget to turn lights off.

I CRY WHEN I WATCH ... "Lassie"....that's why I can't watch it.

I AM NOT ALWAYS ... on time.

I HATE THAT ... you have to stop & wait for trains passing when your in a hurry.

I'M CONFUSED ABOUT ... most things.

I NEED ... to stop and pick up chicken to grill tonight.

I SHOULD ... Get my hair colored on Saturday.

Thursday's Blog-A-Joke

Signs That You are Too Drunk!!

You lose arguments with inanimate objects.

You have to hold onto the lawn to keep from falling off the earth.

Your job is interfering with your drinking.

Your doctor finds traces of blood in your alcohol stream.

You sincerely believe alcohol is the elusive 5th food group.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case - coincidence? I think not!

Two hands and just one mouth.. - now THAT'S a drinking problem!

You can focus better with one eye closed.

The parking lot seems to have moved while you were in the bar.

Your pets are named Barley and Hops.

Hey, 5 beers has just as many calories as a burger, screw dinner!

Your idea of cutting back is less salt.

The whole bar says 'Hi' when you come in..

ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD..............................

Do you think that someone said to the guy that invented the vibrator "build it and they will come"?

Ninjanadoe-ita (Small tornado trying to form)

I was driving home last night and our local weather babe "Belinda" said she was watching funnel clouds form over Lake Minnetonka. I said to myself, self, you better keep a watchful eye out for storms tonight. So driving up to Larry's house I SLAM on my brakes (It's okay, I was still in my neighborhood) and what do I see? A FUNNEL CLOUD FORMING!!!! Here's the photo's folks. Thank god it never amounted to anything. By the time I hit the freeway, it had gone back up into the clouds. I swear...why does Mother Nature do this to me? I'm so afraid of storms and she keeps shoving them in my face. CRAP!!

Note the billboard: SUICIDE (Maybe the nado was trying to say something?)

Thar she goes back up!! Bye-bye ninjanadoe-ita!!!

Wild Kingdom

I grew up in the city (Houston, TX) and 11 years ago we made the big move to the country (because my dh and I have always wanted to live in the country). First thing we did was buy 2 horses (Masa and Lady) so we could spend LOTS of money feeding them and then just watch them out the front window. Masa was bullet proof and all the grandkids could ride him and we wouldn't worry about them (except for the time he walked REALLY close to a tree with the grandson......... hahahaha...............RUB SOME DIRT ON IT SON!!!).

The mare, Lady, was a wild woman. This horse was like 24 years old and it was a rodeo every freakin time I got on her. She didn't walk, she pranced. That horse would prance herself into a lather in 5 minutes. She was also very skittish. I remember we were riding down the right side of the road one day and the next thing I knew, we were riding down the left side of the road. She had seen a dark patch in the road and got scared and actually hopped to the left. Staying in the saddle was a challenge.

As far as animals go, one day I came home and at the end of the driveway there was a stand of tree's and there was a huge owl sitting in the tree. I'd never seen an owl before. Well.....I'd seen pictures of them, but I hadn't seen a live one. Then there was the day I just happened to walk to the back door and looked out and low and behold there was a big bird flying just over the tree tops with a huge snake dangling out of it's talons. Then there was the day all the cats (we inherited 6 six cats from the previous owner) just flew off the back deck. Like roaches, scattering. Again I looked out in the back yard and there's this big snake (water moccasin) ambling through the backyard. I think it was headed for the pool. My husband got out the .22 and we started shooting at it. DH hit the body several times. I aimed and hit a tree on the back of the property (hahahahaha - oops). Finally, the snake was all coiled up and DH went down the steps to about 6 feet away from the snake and aimed at his head and the snake leaped at him with its mouth wide open. I've never see DH move that fast backwards. It scared me so bad I just about fell off the deck.

There were coyotes too. If we got home late and it was dark, I'd make someone walk to the barn to feed. I was too scared. I could hear them howling out there and it was give me goosebumps. Also, this was around the time that Rafael Resendez Martinez Burrito was traveling by train and killing people. We lived about 3 miles from the tracks.

This morning on the way to work I thought I saw a buck, but I wasn't sure. This evening, on the way home, sure enough, I saw a 6 pointer and he was standing with 2 does by the road. I've NEVER seen a buck up close.

You never know what you're gonna see in the country........

Sandi

Chicklets Anyone?

I about fell out of my chair watching this video at work today and wanted to share it with you guys. I didn't have the sound on and you won't need the sound........it's in Spanish anyway.... I'm sure everyone was curious as to why I was laughing out loud at my monitor. Monitors aren't all that funny...........

It's Camp Candid Carrie's Wisconsin weekend!!! This should be fun because I'm not even FROM Wisconsin. I'm from Minnesota. But I love Wisconsin, my boyfriend use to live there, I've traveled through the state numerous times on my way to Florida, Kentucky, Indiana, Chicago and California. Oh wait that's the other way.

Anyway, I'm no expert on Wisconsin. Sorry about that. But what I am an expert on is having a great time and I like WI cheese & football!!!!!! My boyfriend asked me if I wanted to go to Green Bay, WI and attend a Packer game. I replied "HECK YES"!! I love football. Do I love the Packers? Ummmm I'll plead the fifth. My sister, nephew, brother-in-law are HUGE packer fans though I think that counts! No, I'm not even a Vikings fan. I'M A COLTS FAN.... GO PEYTON MANNING!! Okay sorry, back to my Green Bay Packer game.

I can tell you Wisconsin has A LOT of dead deer along the highway. That's gross. We arrived late Friday night and stayed at a friends house. We bar hopped with some of Larry's great friends. That's Larry and I far right.

and then hit the hay.

SATURDAY: Larry played tour guide all day. Green Bay is a lovely town.
Shot some pool too! Had to work that into the mix. We love to shoot pool!
Introduced Larry and his friend to sushi at a Japanese restaurant and
then we called it a day. We had a big day tomorrow.

SUNDAY: TIME TO GET UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Places to go, people to see, beer to drink and a Green Bay Packer game to attend at Lambeau Field.

HAD to go to the Stadium View Bar where all the fun and action was. This is
just across the street from Lambeau Field.

Found another one of Larry's buddies tailgating at the stadium. There's Lambeau in the background. See, just over Kurt's shoulder there!! Hi Larry!!

Making our way to the door.. Sure thanks, we'll have another beer!
Green Bay Packer fans are so nice!!!!!!!!!

We made it!! Here's looking back at those still in line.. hehehehe suckas

THERE'S BRETT FAVRE!! Wave!! Because it's the last time you'll see him there. He's coming over to the Vikings, did you know that? You heard it here first folks!
That's EXACTLY how rumors get started, from me starting them!

Darn lucky Jets.

There's Larry and I leaving the game. Headin back to Minnesota!

THANKS WISCONSIN I HAD A BLAST!!!

Thanks Camp Candid Carrie for sharing my Wisconsin blog with your campers!

Here We Go Again!!! UPDATE

I HAD TO GO TO WORK!!!! DAMMIT
Yes, well.......it wasn't much. More like a spring shower on steroids. It rained all day, but it was a gentle rain. Not a blowing sideways with lightning and thunder and hail kinda rain. I took some pictures on my way into work this morning. It takes me 45 minutes just to get to the bus stop. It's mostly through the country so I don't mind at all. I saw a doe and her baby down the street from home.

This second picture is shooting North. That big building you see on the right is the Igloo factory..... Ice Chest City. You can actually see the leading edge of the storm.

This picture was taken after I got on the bus. Its the back of the seat in front of me. Interesting.... when I was on the bus, the seat was grey. Here it's blue. I'll have to ponder this.................

I felt it more than saw it, but it seemed to me like we were going a little bit faster than we should have been going considering the weather conditions. Here's what Academy looks like from the window of a bus going 97 mph down I-10 in the middle of a tropical storm.

This would be an 18-wheeler.

<----this is a shot of a laser beam being shot across the skies of downtown Houston.

If you scream IKEA really, really loud it sounds like......... I KILL YA ...........hahahahaha. So, have ya'll seen Achmed the Dead Terrorist? If you haven't, Google Jeff Dunham and watch some of the uTube skits. Hysterical. Walter is my favorite ......and Peanut..... and Achmed and Juan Jalapeno.........on a stick.

This is the end of my photojournalistic trip down I-10 in the middle of tropical storm Eduaord-O. Hope you enjoyed it.

Later!

Here We Go Again!!!!

Tropical Storm Edouard (how the hell do you pronounce a word with WAYYYYY to many vowels) is due to arrive tomorrow morning or mid-morning or mid-afternoon or sometime tomorrow (who cares.......I just know I don't have to go to work tomorrow).......Hopefully by the time he gets here his trip through Houston will have knocked some of the wind out of his sail. Edouard.........who would name their child Edouard? And it's spelled wrong. It should be Edward. If it's gonna be Edouard, then it really should be Edouard-O. At last check he was moving WNW at 7 mph and winds were at 45 knots and the barometric pressure had dropped a little (YIKES!!!! NO DROPPING YOUR BAROMETRIC PRESSURE BUDDY!!!!)

I wanted to share a really goose-bump kinda experience I had yesterday. I have a hummingbird feeder outside my back door. I had walked outside to give our granddaughter some lemonade and just after I called her name........ZZZZIIIPPPPPP........the hummingbird (a little girl) arrived at the feeder. Now you have to understand I'm so deaf I wear not one, but two, hearing aides and this little bird sounded like a Pratt & Whitney engine. I'm standing there like a dork trying not to move when it occurred to me that I was holding a red plastic cup full of lemonade. I slowly raised the cup to where she could see it and................... ZZZIIIIPPP.........SHE LANDED ON THE DAMN CUP!!! Now I ask you.........HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!!!! She was 2 feet from my face just sitting on the cup drinking the lemonade. She was an ugly teensy weensy grungy grey thing! Looked like she was having a bad feather day. Female BIRDS (notice the emphasis on BIRDS) are kinda plain. Her mate, boyfriend, or significant other who hangs around has a red ring around his throat. Not a red ring as in a REAL ring.......a ring of red feathers. And she ALWAYS RUNS HIS ASS OFF!!!! hahahah hahahahaaaaaaaaahahahaha.................well I thought it was funny!

So tomorrow we just might have some excitement in the form of weather (my MIL says *weatha* like she's a southern belle). She pronouces Galveston as *gowaston*........What's up with that anyway? My boss pronounces October as *Optober* and this is from a college educated man. Sheesh........

I'm gonna go charge up my camera now.................

Later,
Sandi

Well.....

Well I was going to post my homemade Chow Mein Recipe but saw Candid Carrie had posted a picture on her page that diverted my attention. HYSTERICAL....Whiny Baby Brett!!

Okay, back to my sister-in-law (Kathy's) awesome recipe for Homemade Chow Mein

2 #'s Hamburger
2 Chopped Onions
2 Cups diced Celery (4 stalks)
1 Cup Minute Rice
1 Can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 Can Chicken w/Rice Soup
5 TBSP of Soy Sauce
2 Cups of Water
Salt and Pepper to taste

Brown hamburger and onions. Add remaining ingredients. Place in a 3qt dish. Cover and bake
at 350' for 1.5 hours.

Top with cashews and Chow Mein Noodles. Lavish it with tons of soy sauce. I love that soy sauce. The more the better for me!

This freezes very well.

ENJOY!!!

Sunday

Here it is Sunday morning. I couldn't think of anything to say. (Imagine THAT!)
So, I decided to search for photo's on Goggle Images using the word "Sunday"....
Here's one of the results. Now what in the heck does a bike have
ANYTHING to do with Sunday? I'll never know. Dumb!
